Updated 2/8/09: The Parent and Teacher Advocacy Workshop Advertised for Thursday, February 11th has been postponed due to a space issue. The event will be rescheduled for two dates in March in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Dates and times will be forthcoming.

We are a group of parents and educators, rising up from Red Hook, Brooklyn. We have come together to bring our voices and our experiences to the education reform debate. We are members of a proactive and successful educational community and seek to share our perspective on what we percieve to be true education reform: making schools the center of community. We offer grave warnings and reservations about the hijacking of the charter school movement and the privatization agenda based on our first hand experiences as an AAA school who has been forced to building share with a charter school.
